HomeBase (the "Service") — the app at homebase.mqlcapture.com and the associated software — is provided by MQL Capture LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company ("MQL Capture," "we," "us"). By creating a household vault, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 to create a household and subscribe; family members you add are your authorized users and you are responsible for their use.
The Service captures household documents you provide, attempts to extract dates and details from them, files them in an encrypted vault on your device, and proposes reminders. The Service is an organizational convenience. It is not legal, financial, insurance, medical, or tax advice, and it is not a substitute for reading your own documents or managing your own obligations.
Your documents and data are stored on your device, encrypted with a key derived from your family passphrase. We have no servers that hold your data, no account system, and no ability to recover your passphrase or your data. You are responsible for: (a) remembering your passphrase; (b) keeping backups (the app provides encrypted export); (c) the devices you install the Service on; and (d) anyone you share your passphrase or devices with. If you lose your passphrase and have no backup, your data is unrecoverable — by design.
Document text recognition and date extraction are automated and will sometimes be wrong or incomplete. The Service shows you what it found precisely so you can confirm or correct it. Reminders fire only under conditions the app describes (for example, while the app is open, or via calendar files you import into your own calendar). You agree that you remain solely responsible for knowing and meeting your own deadlines and obligations, and that you will independently verify any date the Service extracts. MQL Capture is not liable for missed deadlines, late fees, lapsed warranties, coverage, registrations, or any other consequence of relying on the Service, as further limited in Section 10.
If you enable sync, the Service stores one end-to-end-encrypted file in a cloud storage account you own (e.g., Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive). That storage is governed by your agreement with that provider, not by us; we never receive the file or its keys. You are responsible for the security of your cloud account. Disabling sync or deleting the file in your cloud account is your responsibility if you no longer want it there.
If you choose to add your own Anthropic API key, document text and images you capture are sent to Anthropic under your key and their terms. This is off by default, entirely optional, and between you and Anthropic.
The Service offers a free trial, then paid subscription plans billed by our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel anytime via Settings → Manage subscription; you keep access through the end of the period you have paid for, after which paid features stop. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; if you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will review in good faith. We may change prices prospectively with notice; changes apply at your next renewal. Your documents remain exportable regardless of subscription status.
You agree not to: reverse the Service's payment or licensing mechanisms; resell the Service; use it to store or process content you have no right to; or interfere with the Service's operation. One subscription covers one household (up to the member limit shown in the app).
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT EXTRACTED DATES OR REMINDERS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR DELIVERED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) MQL CAPTURE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, LATE FEES, PENALTIES, LAPSED COVERAGE OR REGISTRATIONS, OR MISSED DEADLINES OR OPPORTUNITIES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY; AND (b) MQL CAPTURE'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You will defend and hold harmless MQL Capture from claims arising out of your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights in connection with your use of the Service.
We may update the Service and these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use after that is acceptance. You may stop using the Service at any time (your data is yours to export or erase in-app). We may suspend or terminate Service access for breach of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction. The party prevailing in any action may recover reasonable fees and costs where permitted by law.
